How the data works
Each metric comes from a specific, named source.
Air Quality
BAFU (Swiss Federal Office for the Environment) annual air pollution modeling — PM2.5, PM10, NO₂, and ozone — sampled at the exact coordinates of the searched address and compared against Swiss limit values.
Walkability & Amenities
Grocery stores, parks, schools, libraries, healthcare, dining, banks, places of worship, and parking are all community-mapped on OpenStreetMap and counted within the radius you choose.
Safety
Canton-level indicator from the Swiss Federal Statistical Office’s Police Crime Statistics (offences per 1,000 residents). Clearly labeled canton-level — Switzerland does not publish address-level crime data.

Recent headlines relevant to the area, pulled live via Google News for each search.
How scores are calculated
Amenity scores (grocery, transit, parks, schools, healthcare, dining, libraries, banks, worship, parking) are based on how many of each are found, and how close they are, within the radius you select.
Air quality compares modeled pollutant concentrations (PM2.5, PM10, NO₂, ozone) against Swiss legal limit values — an index of 50 means pollution at the limit — and translates that into a score and category.
Safety score is inverse to incident density — fewer reported incidents nearby means a higher score.
Scores are a quick summary, but the underlying raw numbers — counts, distances, AQI readings, incident totals — are always visible and clickable for full detail.

Not yet, but expanding beyond Switzerland is on the roadmap. The same data sources (Open-Meteo, OpenStreetMap, and open-data portals) exist for most of Europe.
